One of the craziest JDM cars has apparently popped up !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in Germany!

Kinja'd!!!

It is from the 2nd Phase, built in Nov '91 and priced at a nice $11.000 now. And it looks quite mint.

That's cool and all, but I found something even better:

I love how the seller lists the wing doors among the other boring details like it's just another amenity.

Elektr.Fensterheber, Klima , Flügeltüren , Rechtslenker, Kompl. orig. jap. Soundanlage, el. Spiegel , zusätzliche Sonnenblenden

To be honest RHD and additional sunvisors are also nothing to sniff at...

Now this makes me wonder..

Which one is easier: Bring a JDM car to Germany or bring an european car out of germany?

"additional". But I have no clue where those additional sun visors should be placed. It sounds like there were sun visors and he put another pair on the car - which makes absolutely no sense. Or maybe the car came without any sun visors? I think you can see one pair of sun visors in the fourth picture.

Another possibility: he has another pair as additional parts that can be put on the car when the first pair fails.

Edit: look at this ebay listing: http://www.ebay.de/itm/JDM-TOYOTA… - the sun visors are the "RAREST ITEM FACTORY OEM. HARD TO FIND EVEN IN JAPAN."

Interesting. Who would have thought the sunvisors would be hard to find?

There are quite some buisnesses in Germany that specialize on that topic. Here's one . They offer you everything from finding to importing the wanted car and finaly make the changes to let it suit into the Strassenverkehrsordnung, ergo to make them get the state registration which includes mostly changing the lighting gear. No problem for the state or national administration if it remains RHD. It is even easier to import cars from the UK, which does not involve huge fees because EU, well mostly at least. In case of the Sera, it even was sold in GB, so it could originally have been a UK car. Importing from the UK has always been a tip in circles of classic car guys, because of the variety of the offerings there and the incomplexity of the imoprt itself. Also the cars are cheaper there sometimes.

Well, they're featured in the title. Guess this is because of the germans everlasting love-affair with the 300SL...

*ruined Bruno Sacco lines facepalm*

There ain't nothing bad about this obsession, I just think it is funny sometimes, especially if you live in the 80s, of course. Oh, I'll take my 300SL in a light almond green/silver melange, debumpered and with period-correct racing seats. HK-Engineering had one just like that on display at the Stuttgart Retro Classics some years ago where I saw it... SPOTLESS!!!
